Since the IOMICA Europeans I have been actively involved in the development of umpiring for radio sailing and have umpired at World and European Championships for the One Metres, Marbleheads, 10 Raters and RC Laser. My sailing “career“ started somewhere in the 80’s.
I am sailing now mostly in Lasers (in the winter at club level some 15 regatta’s) and in summer I enjoy my 36 foot Sunfast mostly on the North Sea (Belgian coast).
As a jury member I do some 20-25 regatta’s a year (a lot of them in Belgium and some 10-15 international events). The last few years I was involved in the jury for European and World Championships IOM, Marblehead, Ten Rater.
In my active days I was a teacher in mathematics and computer stuff.

I’m a National Judge since 2014. and before I was a regional judge since 2009.
I’m used to Radio Sailing since many years as there in the area "Pays de La Loire" a lot of very good competitors, so we have a lot of Radio Sailing regattas each year.
I have been an umpire on several French Championship and other major french events like "La Tricastin" in Pierrelatte. Finally, last year, I was an umpire on the World Championship in Pierrelatte.
I have been also as judge on other International regattas like the European IRC Championship, World 5.5M JI Championship and SYWoC (Student Yachting World Cup).
